Sailboats Suffer from Cold Front High Winds

During heavy weather 2 crewmwn aboard a damaged sailboat awaited rescue. Collier County Deputys were able to extract one but couldn't get the other one off. Coast Guard Fort Myers launched in heavy seas and wind and arrived on scene 3 hours later and were able to extract the second crewman from the disabled sailboat. They then towed the sailboat to a waiting TowboatUS vessel.

Nauti Turtle is no more... Closed May 2014 We were sitting at the Nauti Turtle watching the thunderstorms move towards us. Boating; Fishing Trip from Hell

Speaking of mutinies, I seldom approve but there are times and places for everything. I think Saturday and overnight Sunday might have been a perfect scenario. Several members of our world famous "Dead End Canal Yacht Club" wanted to do some deep sea fishing. They always promise something like that but rarely fulfill the dream. "That's why they call it fishing, not catching," is there standard retort.
